They run at 235V, but the real magic is how fast they hit their stride. Instead of waiting around for a heater to warm up, these things kick in almost instantly. Plus, the infrared light they put out actually sinks into your materials rather than just scorching the surface. The Power Side of Things 1500W is a lot of heat in a small space. We set them to 235V so they play nice with industrial grids and controllers. The result? You get a response time that’s practically immediate. If you’re running a conveyor belt for curing or a rapid-dry line, you know that every second counts. This just makes the whole process move faster. Why bother with Carbon Fiber? Look, standard nichrome wire is fine for some things, but it hates being turned on and off constantly. It wears out. Carbon fiber is different. It handles the “stretch and shrink” of heating and cooling way better, so you aren’t constantly replacing broken filaments. It also pushes heat deeper into the workpiece. It’s the difference between warming a piece of wood with a hairdryer and warming it with the sun. A few things to keep in mind The good news is these are easy to install. You can usually drop them right into your existing short-wave IR banks without much fuss. But here’s the catch: they runhot. If you cram them too close together, you’re going to bake your reflector housings. You’ll want to make sure your fans are humming and your ventilation is actually doing its job to clear out that ambient heat. These heaters are absolute workhorses. We see them taking a beating in plastic welding and PET blowing every day. Just do me a favor—keep an eye on your voltage regulator. If you push too many volts into a carbon fiber element, you’ll kill it. Keep it dialed in, and they’ll last you a long time.
