Whether you’re running a Manroland or any of the other big global brands, the goal is always the same: get that ink dry, and get it dry fast. There’s nothing worse than a smudge ruining a high-speed run. We build our infrared (IR) lamps to be simple, drop-in replacements. No hacking, no tinkering. We just focus on the physics—getting the heat density right and making sure the lamp actually fits the space you’ve got. Getting the power right Here’s the thing about high-speed presses: if the wattage-to-length ratio is off, you’re in trouble. Too little heat and the ink stays wet. Too much, and you’re scorching your paper. We build our tubes to match your original equipment exactly. If your Manroland needs a specific punch of power over a 300mm or 500mm span, that’s exactly what we give you. It keeps things stable. Plus, it stops your lamps from burning out early because of a voltage mismatch. The nitty-gritty: Quartz and Connectors We use high-purity quartz glass. Why? Because these lamps cycle on and off rapidly, and that thermal shock can crack cheaper glass. As for the fit, we stick to standard R7s or Sk15 connectors. We keep the tolerances tight so you can just wire them up and get back to work without messing with the housing. Most of the time, shortwave IR emitters are the way to go since they hit the ink layer fast. But if you’re working with a weird ink type, we’ve got coated versions. These shift the heat spectrum so the ink gets the blast it needs, while the paper stays cool. A quick word of caution High-wattage lamps put out a massive amount of heat. That’s great for speed, but it puts a lot of pressure on your cooling fans. If your vents are clogged or your fans are struggling, the housing will overheat. When that happens, your tubes won’t last nearly as long. Our lamps are designed to fit almost anything, but do yourself a favor and check your power supply. Clean power is the secret to a lamp that actually lasts.
