If you’ve ever worked with paper tube drying tunnels, you know the struggle. You need enough heat to set the glue fast, but if you push it too far, you’re just scorching the cardboard. It’s a delicate balance. We decided to fix the headache of finding replacement lamps. We build ours to be “drop-in” replacements. Whether you’re running one of the five big global brands or something a bit more niche, our goal is to make sure the lamp just fits and works. No hacking, no praying, no custom brackets. The Power Struggle Here’s the thing about voltage: it’s a mess depending on where your factory is located. That’s why we spec our lamps for both 220V and 380V/400V. If you want to speed up your line, you’ll probably want a higher-wattage lamp to get that core dry while it’s spinning. But a word of caution—keep an eye on your breakers. If you crank up the wattage without checking your power capacity, you’re going to trip a switch. And please, check your cooling fans. If the fans can’t keep up with the extra heat, you might actually warp the tunnel housing. Not a fun afternoon. Quartz and Connectors We use shortwave quartz glass. Why? Because it hits the adhesive instantly. To make the installation painless, we stick to R7s or Sk15 connectors. It means you can just plug them into your existing sockets and get back to work. Depending on what you need, we offer clear or coated quartz. We’re big fans of the coated ones—they push the heat forward toward the tube rather than letting it bleed up into the ceiling of the tunnel. It’s just a smarter way to use your energy. The Reality of the Fit Most “generic” lamps fail because they’re off by a couple of millimeters. In this business, a few millimeters is the difference between a five-minute swap and a three-hour nightmare. We keep our tolerances tight so they actually slide in. But there is a trade-off you should know about. If you switch to a higher-intensity lamp to shave time off your cure cycle, you might wear out the quartz envelope faster—especially if your ventilation is a bit dusty or weak. You’ll get your tubes out the door faster, sure, but you might find yourself replacing bulbs more often. Just take a quick look at your airflow before you ramp up the power.
