
Getting Your Roland Texart RT-640 Curing Just Right
If you’re running a Roland Texart RT-640, you know the struggle. You need enough heat to cure the ink perfectly, but one wrong move and you’ve scorched your fabric. It’s a fine line. That’s why we built our infrared lamps to be simple, drop-in replacements. We didn’t want you to have to mess around with settings or “hack” your machine. We just wanted them to work as well as—or even better than—the ones that came with the printer.
It’s all about the heat
To keep your production moving fast, you need a lamp that hits the right temperature the second it turns on. We use high-purity quartz glass for a reason. It lets the short-wave radiation sink deep into the ink rather than just baking the surface. We’ve also tuned the wattage and voltage carefully. Here’s the thing: if you try to crank the wattage too high just to speed things up, you risk frying your print head carriage. It’s a balancing act between how much heat the lamp puts out and how fast your conveyor is moving.
The “Perfect Fit” Obsession
A lamp that’s off by even two millimeters is a problem. If it doesn’t sit perfectly in the reflector, you get “cold spots” on your prints. Not a good look. We made sure our connectors match the RT-640 pin configurations exactly. You just plug it in. No rewiring, no modifying the harness, no headaches. Plus, we use a halogen cycle. Most cheap lamps dim or burn out after a few hundred hours because the filament evaporates. Ours stay bright and consistent for much longer, so you aren’t swapping bulbs every other week.
A few real-world tips
These lamps are tough, but they aren’t magic. Since we’ve packed in a lot of heat density, your cooling fans need to be spotless. If your vents are clogged with dust, that heat soaks back into the housing and kills the quartz tube. And do yourself a favor: keep those reflectors polished. A dirty reflector wastes energy and forces the lamp to run hotter than it needs to. A quick clean saves you a lot of money in the long run.
