
Getting Your M&R Flash Dryer Back Up to Speed
If you’ve ever tried to swap out infrared lamps across different printing brands, you know it’s not as simple as just finding a tube that’s the right length. It can be a total headache. That’s why we built our M&R-compatible lamps to be true “drop-in” replacements. We didn’t want you messing around with tools or guesswork. We just focused on the three things that actually matter: the power, the heat, and the fit. The Power Struggle Most automatic flash dryers rely on high-wattage shortwave heat to bake plastisol inks in a matter of seconds. If the wattage is too low, your production crawls. If it’s too high? You risk frying your controllers. We spent a lot of time balancing the filament density. Why? Because there’s nothing worse than “cold spots” at the ends of your conveyor. We made sure the heat stays concentrated right where it needs to be, so every shirt gets the same cure. Built to Take a Beating These machines go through a brutal cycle of heating up and cooling down, over and over. To handle that, we use high-purity quartz glass. We also add a halogen gas fill, which stops the filament from evaporating too fast. It basically means the lamp lasts longer, even if you’re running it non-stop. And about the connectors—we stuck with the standard R7s and Sk15 pins. You won’t have to rewire a thing. No sketchy adapters, no voltage drops, and definitely no electrical arcing. You just plug it in and get back to work. Making it Work in the Shop We designed these to fit the footprints of the top five printing brands globally. You can slide them right into your existing reflector housing without having to bend or modify anything. One quick tip, though. These high-density lamps put out some serious heat. If you’re cranking the wattage to speed up your cure times,keep your cooling fans clean. If those fans are clogged with lint and dust, you’re risking warping your housing. Keep the air moving, and these lamps will do the heavy lifting for you.
