It keeps current lower than a 230V option, so you can use smaller wiring and smaller contactors in the control panel. That helps you keep panel heat and voltage drop in check. But there’s a trade-off. High watt density means this tube runs hot. Make sure the surrounding gear—reflector, mounting bracket, nearby components—can handle the temperature rise. If they can’t, the whole assembly won’t last as long as it should.

What It’s Made Of

We build these with a quartz envelope, a carbon fiber heating element, and a halogen fill gas. The halogen cycle keeps the element stable at high temps, so you get less blackening over time and steady output through the life of the tube. Quartz handles thermal shock well and stays highly transparent for radiant heat. That translates to predictable performance—no surprises when you need it most. The R7s base is straightforward, industrial-grade. It locks in fast with solid contact, and it’s made to be swapped in and out on the line. In most cases, it’s a true drop-in replacement, so you can replace a burnt-out tube without reworking the machine.

These tubes are a natural fit for PET blowing and plastic sealing, where you need fast, localized heating. The concentrated radiant output hits the mold surface and preforms quickly, which helps tighten cycle times. In ovens and drying tunnels, the compact shape lets you squeeze heat into tight clearances around conveyors.
